Feature Enhancements
Transfers: When we overhauled transfers back in May, we removed the ability to return sent items before they were received in an effort to streamline the system. We’ve received feedback from our customers, however, that the ability to return items to the sending shop while they are still In Transit is useful for correcting errors on transfers before they’ve had an impact on the receiving shop, and we’ve listened. As a result, the Return feature is once again available on transfers that are in the Sent status or that have been reopened for items that are In Transit! CLD-17383
Customers: Merging customers is a great way to eliminate duplicate entries in your customer records, but when the secondary customer record is merged into the primary customer record, priority is given to the data in the primary customer record. As a result, if the secondary record contains data that conflicts with the primary record, that data is not merged and is lost when the secondary record is deleted. From now on, the secondary customer record will be archived after the merge, not deleted, so that the unmerged data can be recovered. CLD-17076
Vendor Catalogs: Previously only available through the Getting Started setup wizard, Vendor Catalogs are being given their own dedicated place under Inventory > Inventory Settings. This option allows you to quickly add vendors and product catalogs to your account by industry, giving you more options when importing catalog items into your account.
NOTE: Enabling several industries can result in very long lists of available vendors, which in turn results in very long drop-down menus in places where vendors can be specified. CLD-16114
Optional Modules: Also previously only available through the Getting Started setup wizard, Optional Modules can now be found under Settings > Advanced Setup. This option allows you to select which features you’d like to enable in your Lightspeed Retail account from among the following: CLD-16254
- Service: Create work orders to schedule services, repairs and other employee tasks.
- Gift Cards: Offer scannable gift cards that can be easily tracked and managed.
- Time Clock: Clock in/out to enable timesheet entries and report on employee hours.
Country and region settings: While we do our best to include as many countries as possible in our list of available regional settings, we have a long way to go before we can collect them all. If you use Lightspeed Retail in a country that is not available in our Location Customization options, you can simply select Default, rather than having to choose an existing country. You can then manually set the desired Date Format, Currency, and Tax Model. CLD-16281
Bug Fixes
- Fixed an issue with work orders where the PIN prompt setting in Settings > General Options was not prompting for a PIN. CLD-17694
- Fixed an issue on the Inventory tab of an item where the in transit quantity of the item was not showing if the transfer that it is on was reopened or in Received status. CLD-17516
