Lightspeed Retail
This week’s release is our equivalent to the trending subscription box: it has a bit of everything and something for everyone. Check in with us in two weeks to see what new surprises we’ll deliver next!
New Feature
- Getting Started: Upon logging into your Lightspeed accounts for the first time, new merchants are now greeted with a Getting Started modal. This modal has everything you need to start selling today, including direct access to our new Retail: Guided Setup. CLD-13734
- Today’s Transactions: It’s common for retailers to offer their associates commission on their retail sales as incentive. From Sales> Today’s Transactions, our merchant’s associates can now track their daily sales without any manual calculations or access to Reports.
Payment Processing Enhancements
- Vantiv (US): Merchants using Vantiv (US) as their payment processor can now refund deposits back to their customers’ original credit cards directly from their Lightspeed account.
UI Changes
- Customer Accounts: Providing customers with a fast and seamless checkout experience is important to retailers. With this need in mind, merchants can now charge customers for sale items and credit account deposits/payments in one convenient debit/credit transaction. This newly redesigned Add Deposit and Make Payment window is available for merchants using the payments processors below and will be available on all accounts in the near future:
- Vantiv (US)
- Vantiv (Canada)
- iZettle
- Tyro
- Special Orders: When working on a transfer or purchase order, the Special Orders section in the left menu is now always visible without needing to be logged into a shop with active special orders.
Bug Fixes
- Serial Numbers: When assigning a serial number to a sale in Inventory > Shipping, an error message appears and the serial number is only assigned to the sale, not the customer. This issue is now fixed.
Lightspeed Retail with eCom
This release, we worked towards completing the category tree feature and garnered our focus on researching new and exciting omnichannel initiatives. Summer may be just around the corner but the future of omnichannel is looking bright as well!
New Features
- Category Trees: As products in eCom can be assigned to more than one category, maintaining category and subcategory relationships, also known as category trees, is important. This category tree preservation now applies when you rearrange subcategories into a different parent category. The associated products are assigned to all levels of the new category tree.
