What was your journey within Lightspeed like?
Like a field trip through all departments and position.
What was the first position you held here?
I started off in Lead Generation and truly believe it gave me the best perspective on how Lightspeed operates as a service based company. As the Frontline Sales Associate, I was the first to gauge the success/feedback of our marketing department, while learning about retailer needs first hand.
What are you working on now?
I’d have to wipe your memory if I told you.
What is the most gratifying moment you had at work?
Spending a whole summer servicing and supporting large scale Montreal festivals was about as gratifying as it gets for a POS company. And being able to share that experience with 3 different members of support everyday was a satisfying experience for me personally.
If you could go back to your first day on the job, what would you tell yourself?
Apply for support level 1.
Tell us a little bit about what you do day-to-day!
It drastically changes everyday, from training a famous sports franchise on advanced reporting calculations to helping bring the right resources together internally to fast-track a customer solution.
What inspires your work?
The reflection of how much my work has improved over the years and the excitement to see it continue to improve everyday.
You use Lightspeed Retail at your bike shop. Why does Lightspeed work for your business?
Lightspeed allowed us to build a lookup index when taking customer measurements to make sure they are matched with the perfectly sized bike.
What is your favourite Lightspeed snack?
Goldfish or juice.
What do you like to do in your free time?
Read about and watch physics, computer science and astronomy videos.
If you were an animal, which one would you be?
A Dog or an Otter.
What is something you wish you could master?
Data science and programming in general.
What is the best book you ever read?
The Black Swan: The Impact of the Highly Improbable by Nassim Nicholas Taleb.
If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be?
In a remote Swiss mountain village.
If you had to eat one thing for the rest of your life, what would it be?
Realistically, sushi if I planned on surviving. If not, cheese fondue.
What’s one new thing you’ve learned in the recent past?
As the area of your knowledge increases, so does the perimeter of your ignorance.
When you were young, what did you want to be when you grew up?
A surgeon.
If you didn’t have to sleep, what would you do with the extra time?
Create a dream simulator.
If you could be one age for the rest of your life, what would it be?
27, to both live and die like a rockstar.
If you could have any pet in the world, what would it be?
A Corgi.
Is “gif” pronounced with a hard or a soft ‘g’?
